Hi! I’m Gunnar Dougherty, a junior psychology major at the University of Florida. I’m interested in the deep structure of thought: how abstract ideas like agency, belief, and normativity take shape within individual minds and across social contexts. I’m especially drawn to interdisciplinary questions that live between psychology, philosophy, and neuroscience, particularly those that touch on the unconscious dimensions of meaning and behavior. In the lab, I’m excited to contribute to research that explores how people construct experience and navigate social space and how cognitive and emotional processes shape how we connect with ourselves and others. After graduating, I plan to pursue graduate study in psychology/cognitive science.

Hi everyone! My name is Grace and I am a third-year majoring in Psychology and Criminology and am minoring in Sociology of Social Justice and Policy. I am interested in pursuing a PhD in Social Psychology or Forensic Psychology and working hands-on in research or for a nonprofit. I joined this lab to study human behaviors and emotional processes and gain research experience. I plan to apply these studies to tackle real-world topics. In my free time, I like to write music and poetry, and lift weights. I am also an AWARE ambassador for the Counseling and Wellness Center where I raise awareness for mental health issues and network for the CWC!

Hi! I'm Hannah, a third-year Psychology major and Early Childhood Studies minor. I'm passionate about mental health and hope to learn more about what drives our behaviors along with how we can adapt our environments to better support our well-being. In the future, I hope to pursue a PhD that merges my interests in cognitive psychology, early childhood development, and emotional styles. Outside of school, I love to make coffee, sing, read, and play piano! Florida Social Cognition and Emotion Lab
